[NEWS]161010 SMTown Live ’10 World Tour in LA places in U.S. Billboard Chart

SMTown Live ’10 World Tour was a certified hit in LA, and the U.S. Billboard Charts are validating it.

The concert, featuring top K-pop artists and actors from label SM Entertainment, placed at No.10 on the U.S. Billboard Boxcore chart, taking out some of the biggest international music names. The second leg and first U.S. appearance of the SMTown tour held on September 4 at the Staples Center attracted 15,015 fans and pulled in over $1 million in ticket sales.

SMTown Live placed higher than concerts of international names like Shakira (16th), teen sensation Justin Bieber (24th) and music legends Sting (20th) and Guns & Roses (27th).

A representative from SME proudly stated that SM’s artists are the first Asian performers to get in the top 10 of the Boxcore charts, with many of the singers higher than them in the charts holding concerts for more than one night, compared to SMTown’s one-night only gig.

Fans in Asia and elsewhere internationally are surely proud of the news, as they continue to support their favorite SM artists such as Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, SHINee, U-Know Yunho and BoA. After kicking off with shows in Seoul, LA and China, the tour will open in Japan early next year.
