샤이니 SHINEE Profile

SHINee (샤이니, stylized as SHINee, pronounced as Shiny) is a South Korean Boy Band formed by SM Entertainment. SHINEE is a contemporary band compried of 5 members namely: Jong Hyun, Min Ho, Tae Min, Onew, and Key.
Contemporary band represents the team that suggests and leads the trend that suits the current world in all areas including mysics, dance, and fashion, and like the title, contemporary band, SHINEE will present their unique and trendy music while keeping contemporary images in dance and fashion.



Also, the name of the group, SHINEE, is a coined word composed by adding the noun suffix, "ee', to the word 'Shine' and it is interpreted as the person who receives the light' or in other words, the person in the limelight, and it also harbors the great ambition of SHINEE to mesmerize a number of music fans across ages and borders with a wide variety of music.

SHINee debut
SHinee first SHINee made their first seen on May 25, 2008 on SBS's Popular Songs with their promotional single, "Nunan Neomu Yeppeo (Replay)" ("누난 너무 예뻐 (Replay)", lit. "Older Sister, You're So Pretty"). They have their first teaser video of the group was released on May 19, in its official theshinee.com.Then,on May 23rd, the group's first mini-album, Replay was released. Replay debuted at #10 on the Korean music charts and peaked at #8, selling 17,957 copies in the first half of 2008.



On June 7, 2008, Shinee participated in the Dream Concert in the Seoul Olympic Stadium along with other high profile Korean stars such as Epik High, Girls' Generation, Super Junior, TVXQ and the Wonder Girls. The group won their first award, Rookie of the Month, at the Cyworld Digital Music Award on June 22, 2008. Shinee took part in SMTown Live '08, which was held on August 18, 2008. They performed alongside labelmates BoA, Cheon Sang Ji Hee the Grace, Girls' Generation, Super Junior and TVXQ. On August 23, 2008, Shinee attended MNet's 20's Choice Awards 2008, where they won the "Hot New Star" award.Shinee released their full debut album, The Shinee World, on August 28, 2008. The album debuted on the charts at #3, selling 30,000 copies.



Shinee are considered to be fashion icons having started the "Shinee Trend", which is popular amongst the younger generation.
